Susan Hashway, a retired professor in the College of Basic and Special Studies at GSU, was murdered in a home invasion in early June. The investigation is still ongoing.

In a horrific act of violence in early June, retired Grambling State University professor Susan Hashway was murdered following a home invasion at her residence on Paynter Drive in Ruston.

However, the 63-year-old’s life was not defined by her last moments on Earth, but rather by her unwavering devotion to the teaching profession, her love of the arts and her dotting affection for her friends, family and felines.
