Long dry spell leaves dead trees

This year I am receiving more phone calls about dead trees than I have ever received. It’s very difficult to talk with a homeowner about that tree they planted when they moved into the house and tell them that there isn’t much you can do but cut it down before it becomes a safety concern. In most of the cases, the trees have died or are dying because of damage caused by the drought conditions we have had over the last five years, not from this year’s dry conditions.
