For now, it looks like the state’s school choice scholarship program will be here to stay, which is why it’s good that the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education adopted accountability standards for those schools last week.

Every public school in Louisiana is graded each year, and those with grades deemed unacceptable face sanctions, receive improvement plans and, in extreme cases, relinquish control to the state through the Recovery School District.
