NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louisiana voters have approved a constitutional amendment to strengthen already strong gun possession rights in the state.
The amendment eliminates language in the Louisiana Constitution that allows passage of laws prohibiting concealed weapons. It also includes a requirement that any gun restriction laws be held to a tough judicial standard.
State Sen. Rick Gallot had a resolution from the Senate prepared in honor of both Cypress Springs and Ruston Elementary schools and their Lemonade Day projects. He visited both CSE and RES to present the resolutions and make a $25 contribution to each school. CSE is resolution No. 0553 and RES is resolution No. 0555.
