Shoppers take part in state sales tax holiday
With the state sales tax holiday, area stores and residents took advantage of the added four percent discount, as school supplies and other fall-related goods are quickly becoming essential.
“It’s been a welcome boost,” said Richie McKinney, owner of McKinney Honda. “We are probably doing three times the business we normally do this time of year. Many people are buying hunting equipment, lawn equipment, gun safes and hand-held power equipment. Everybody likes to save sales tax no matter what it is.”
