Taylor, Smith wed in July

Angie Taylor and Hugh Smith, both of Arcadia, were united in matrimony in a 6 p.m. ceremony on July 21. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Bruce Willson.

The bride is the daughter of Tim and Teresa Taylor, of Arcadia, and the granddaughter of Helen W. Chandler, of Simsboro, Dean and Inita Chandler, of Athens, and the late Jack and Cordelia Taylor.

The groom is the son of Don and Priscilla Smith, of Arcadia, and Beth and Max Kelly, of El Dorado, Ark. He is the grandson of the late O.B. and Enid Smith and the late David and Mildred Lyons.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a strapless white satin ball gown designed by Oleg Cassini. The fitted bodice was adorned with embroidery and beads. A long flowing train complemented the gown and was also adorned with embroidery and beads.

Serving the bride as maid of honor was Amy Brown, of Arcadia. Serving as matron of honor was Tracie Wiggins, of Haughton. Casey Merritt, of Ruston, Halie Chandler, of Choudrant, and Kari Allums, of Coushatta, served as bridesmaids. Rileigh Walsh, of Haughton, served as a junior bridesmaid. All bridesmaids wore long horizon blue dresses. The junior bridesmaid wore a long ball gown, watermelon in color.

Don Smith, of Arcadia, served as the best man. Dennis Akin, of Bernice, served as groomsman. Blake Taylor, of Arcadia, and Cody Snipe, of Ruston, served as ushers.

Aimsley Brown, of Arcadia, served as flower girl and Harrison Walsh, of Haughton, served as ring bearer. Nikki Bryan, of Coushatta, served as the book attendant, and Payton Chandler and Mallory Chandler, both of Navarre, Fla., served as greeters.

Marianna Easley, of Ruston, provided the music during the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Willow Bay Ballroom in Arcadia, with music provided by West We Go.

Prior to the ceremony, Don and Priscilla Smith hosted a rehearsal dinner at the First National Bank Homer Woodard Room.

Leading to the ceremony, the couple was honored with several showers.

On March 17, Tonya Davidson, Terri McCullin, Donna Johnson, Loretta Womack and Melinda Kidd hosted a miscellaneous bridal shower in the First National Bank Woodard Room in Arcadia.

On May 12, the ladies of Alabama Baptist Church hosted a miscellaneous shower.

On May 20, Pam Simpson, Summer Bourn, Ashley Thomas and Holly Calhoun hosted a kitchen shower.

On June 23, Paul and Judy Woodard, in their home, hosted an “All Around” shower.

On July 6, the bridesmaids hosted a party at Painting with a Twist in Bossier City.

After a honeymoon to Las Vegas, Nev., the couple will make their home in Arcadia.
