Let’s face it. For the most part, unless something tragic happens — like Hurricane Isaac — Democratic hopefuls for the presidential seat don’t visit Louisiana.

That is not because there is no one here who likes President Barack Obama. In fact, according to the Office of the Federal archives, of the 1,906,761 people that voted in Louisiana in the 2008 election, exactly 782,989 voted for Obama. That comes out to be approximately 41.06 percent of Louisiana voters. While it’s certainly not a majority, it’s still a pretty good number.
