Despite meteorologists’ ability to pretty well predict what a hurricane is going to do, the giant storms can be fickle. Take Hurricane Isaac, for instance.

If Isaac had done what all the educated guesses and “spaghetti models” had said, the eye of the storm would have passed over Lincoln Parish. But the storm slowed to a snail’s pace of six-miles-per-hour northward movement and shifted westward, putting Lincoln Parish on Isaac’s east side.
