Help fight domestic abuse
Thoughts of October usually correlate with pumpkins, leaves changing color and Halloween. But October is also the month chosen to bring awareness to a social issue that affects us all: domestic violence.
Domestic violence knows no socioeconomic, racial or even gender boundaries — although victims are predominately women. Domestic violence is also not limited to physical abuse but is defined as a pattern of coercive, controlling behavior that escalates in the severity over time. This can include physical, emotional, psychological or financial abuse.
