Dual enrollment program soars in Lincoln Parish

If all goes as planned, when Marley Ratcliff graduates from Ruston High School in the spring she will have enough hours of college credit to be considered a sophomore. And, her parents will have spent less than $1,500 on those college courses.

“The best part is definitely being able to start college being hit with a smaller load,” Ratcliff said. “I also feel more prepared in general because of the classes being harder.”

Marley, who believes she wants to study nursing, said a friend of hers came back from college and told her that taking the dual enrollment biology class at RHS had prepared him well for the college-level biology curriculum.
