Lock-up raises funds for MDA

Several community members were handcuffed, transported in a police car and forced to bail out of “jail” on Thursday, all to support a good cause.

Thirty-six “jailbirds” participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s annual fundraiser, Ruston Executive Lock-Up, hosted by Jim Taylor Ford Lincoln.

The concept is that business and community leaders are selected by the MDA — either by word of mouth or through nomination — to be “locked up” for at least an hour inside the car dealership as they persuade others to help them raise the required bail money.
