Funeral services celebrating the life of Daniel Neil Moon, 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Salem United Methodist Church, Dubach, Louisiana. Officiating will be Rev. Danny Baskin. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 13, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Neil was born January 5, 1932 in Ruston to Jefferson Davis and Willie Worthington Moon.

Neil was an active member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was owner of M&M Construction, a poultry farmer, a former Lincoln Parish Police Juror and school bus driver, and on the Board of Directors of Louisiana Ag Credit and Trails End Golf Course.

Neil loved being surrounded by his family and liked nothing better than a good game of golf with his golfing buddies.

He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gene Taylor, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Puckett; and brother, Marvin Moon.

Neil is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Nolan Moon; daughters, Peggy Taylor of Bryceland; Lee Ann Fields and husband David of Zachary, LA, Cathy Franklin and husband Mike of Mineral Springs; and son, Gene Moon of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Justin Fields and John Fields of Ruston, Lindsey Taylor Montgomery and husband Grant of Madison, MS, Gene Taylor III and wife Natalie of Alexandria, LA, Jennifer Franklin Barmore and husband Wes of Dubach, Jade Moon Van Meter and husband Chris of Tyler, TX and Hutton Moon of Dallas, TX; and by four great-grandchildren, Austin Michael Barmore, Jaxson Neil Barmore, Reese Catherine Taylor and Nixon Rae Van Meter.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
