Voting on term limits
Editor’s note: The following information was provided by the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana. It has been edited for space. On the Nov. 6 ballot is a proposition limiting the terms of local school board members to three consecutive four-year terms.
Right now, residents unhappy with the members of their school boards can encourage members of the community to run against the incumbents and hope the challengers win. This is difficult to do because incumbent officials historically have the advantage in running for re-election.
