School board utilizes federal funds

Everyone is having to do the same or more with less these days, and the Lincoln Parish School System is no exception.

At the regularly scheduled board meeting earlier this month, board members heard information about the federal programs utilized by the school system, including the Title I, II, III, IV and VI-B.

Willie Washington, federal programs director, presented a program on the various federal programs that fall under his jurisdiction. The total budget for all Title projects is $3,291,080. This reflects an overall decrease of 1 percent in federal funding. Washington explained what the various Title programs are designed to do:
