Douglas, Beckham exchange vows

Emery Jayne Douglas, of Ruston and Joshua Layne Beckham, of Choudrant, were united in matrimony in a 6 p.m. ceremony on Oct. 20 at the Ruston Country Club. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Dallas Witt, of Ruston.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Lucy Douglas, of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Margie Opal Douglas, of Ruston, Barbara Blunk, of Ruston, David and Rose Ann Douglas, of Gerton, N.C., and the late Chester Blunk.

Joshua is the son of Terry and Wanda Beckham, of Choudrant. He is the grandson of Mary Maxine Beckham, of Farmerville, the late Hayward and Mary Otwell and the late Harold Beckham.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a classic ivory silk taffeta floor length ball gown by WTOO by Watters with a crumb catcher neckline, spaghetti straps, pleated and beaded corsage and full skirt with pockets. To complete the look, the bride chose a French netting hair accessory with an ivory floral accent. The bride carried a beautiful hand-tied bouquet of white roses, carnation, and baby's breath accented with peacock feathers and organic elements. The bouquet was bound with sapphire ribbon tied in a nautical knot and adorned with a vintage brooch.

Caitlin Bradley, best friend of the bride, of Ruston, served as maid of honor. Raine Blunk, cousin of the bride, of Savannah, Ga., Shannon Bennings, of Prattsville, Ark., and Devan Smith, of Ruston, served as bridesmaids.

The bridesmaids wore a knee-length flowing chiffon gown with a ruched bust and sweetheart neckline in a beautiful marine color. The bridesmaids each carried a hand gathered bouquet of baby's breath. The bouquets were embellished with peacock feathers and stems of curly willow, and bound with sapphire ribbon tied in a nautical knot and accented with a vintage button.

Timothy Culp, best friend of the groom, of West Monroe, served as the best man. Daniel Gressett, of Ruston, TJ Brister, of Choudrant, and Hank Festervan, of Choudrant, served as groomsmen. Philip Blunk, of Little Rock, Ark., and Lee Harris, of Springhill, served as ushers.
Eden Blunk, of Little Rock, served as junior bridesmaid, while Madisynn and Paetynn Boone, of West Monroe, served as flower girls Paige Witt, of Ruston, read scripture during the ceremony. Music was provided by guitarist, Tim Cripps, of Simsboro.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Ruston Country Club.

Wayne and Lori Pitts, owners of Belle's Ole South Diner in West Monroe, catered the reception.

The wedding and groom's cakes were created by Kacee's Sugar and Spice.

Brady McKinney of Stellar DJ provided the music for the reception.

William Douglas, brother of the bride, served as the official photographer for the ceremony and reception.

Juanita Coker and Amber Upshaw of Rust-N-Lace served as wedding planners and coordinators.

Prior to the ceremony, on Oct. 19, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by Terry and Wanda Beckham at the Ruston Country Club.

On Sept. 22, a bridal shower was hosted by Shannon Bennings, Ann Mayo and Tiffany Hendry at the home of Ann and Michael Mayo in West Monroe.

On Oct. 7, a miscellaneous shower was given by Mineral Springs Baptist Church and hosted by the ladies of the church.

On Oct. 13, a lingerie shower was hosted by Caitlin Bradley and Devan Smith at Portico Bar and Grill in Ruston.

The couple plan to honeymoon in Hawaii this summer, and have currently made their home in Choudrant.
