Vallery, Alsup wed
Amanda Michelle Vallery, of West Monroe, and Timothy James Alsup, of Ruston, were united in matrimony in a 6 p.m. ceremony Fair Park Baptist Church in West Monroe. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Dr. Chris Craig.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Pat Vallery, of West Monroe. She is the granddaughter of Amos and Verlyn Vallery, of West Monroe, Dorthy Nugent, of West Monroe, and the late J.W. Nugent.
Timothy is the son of Carey and Marty Alsup, of Ruston, and he is the grandson of the late Jacob and Mattsye Pearce and the late N.C. and Carolyn Alsup.
Given in marriage by her parents the bride wore a lovely ivory floor-length, fit and flare gown by Allure, with rich embellishment, featuring a strapless, sweetheart neckline. Chiffon ruches and beaded lace beautifully adorned the entire gown. The bride wore an ivory fingertip veil trimmed in ivory satin. She carried a gorgeous bouquet of white flowers.
Serving as matrons of honor were Katy Vallery, of West Monroe, and Crystal Bowling, also of West Monroe. Allison Comeaux, Whitney Downy, Lindsey Lowe, Kristina Peters and Cara Scheppf, all of West Monroe, Sonni Moseley, of Benton, Ark., Ashton Pinnix, of Benton, Ashley Arrington, of Sunnyvale, Calif., Hilary Davis, of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Heather Fenley, of Houston, Texas, served as bridesmaids.
Attendants wore a ﬂoor length, sweetheart neck lined Chiffon gown in the color of stone, featured asymmetrical ruching throughout the bodice and a one-shoulder strap, accented with rufﬂe detail. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of white mixed with vivid orange and green ﬂowers.
Carey Alsup, father of the groom, and Landon Pender, of Ruston, served as best men.
Daniel Alsup, Josh Perot, John Robert Smith and Mark Taylor, all of Ruston, Austin Fallin and Geurin Grigsby, each of Austin, Texas, Andrew Alsup, of Shreveport, Ben Alsup, of Baton Rouge, Keegan Lewis, of Monroe, and Chris Vallery, of West Monroe, served as groomsmen.
Luke and Gavin Vallery, nephews of the bride, of West Monroe, served as ring bearers.
Grace and Emma Waren, each of West Monroe, served as the book attendants.
Music was provided by Cheryl Johnson, organist, and Darris and Kayle Waren, vocalists.
Prior to the ceremony a rehearsal dinner was given by the parents of the groom at Warehouse No. 1 Restaurant, in Monroe, on Nov. 9.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at Ouachita Grand Plaza, in Monroe.
Leading up to the ceremony, various events and showers were given in the couple’s honor.
A Bridal Shower Brunch was held on Sept. 8 at the home of Becky Crawford. Hosting the event were Yvette Brookes, Rachel Barmore, Melinda Brasuell, Becky Crawford, Susan Guillot, Deborah Kincannon, Nancy Knox, Melanie Lewis, Kim McCormack, Nancy Mclntyre, Kathy Shealy, Lee Sutton and Jane Tatum
On Sept. 23, a bridal tea shower was given at Fair Park Baptist Church. The ladies of the church hosted the event.
On Sept. 28, a surprise shower was given at the homeof Rosalyn Janaway. Hosting the event was the bride’s Pokeno group.
On Sept. 30, a miscellaneous bridal shower was held at the First Baptist Church in Ruston. Hosting the event were Jo Ann Barr, Helen Baxter, Tammy Coates, Jane Corley, Pam Flowers, Debbi Hauser, Cheryl Leachman, Donna Lewis, Kellye Ratcliff and Kelly Smith.
On Oct. 12, a tool time/honey do couples shower was given at the Ropp Center at Louisiana Tech University. Hosting the event were DJ and Sandy Allen, Daniel and Leaia Alsup, Randy and Sally Graham, Wes and Deborah Lynch, Jim and Sherri Pearce, Petey and Kate Perot, Billy and Kelly Smith, Mike and Pam Walpole and Billy and Kathy Warren.
On Oct. 23, a bed and bath shower was given at Claiborne Elementary School in West Monroe. The teachers of the school hosted the event.
On Nov. 3, a bridesmaid’s luncheon was given at El Sombrero in West Monroe. Hosting the event were Beverly Bowling, Susie Hatten and Debbie McNew.
After a honeymoon to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in West Monroe.
