Consider this renowned quote by the great Greek epic poet, Homer: “Light is the task where many share the toil.”

Homer’s words give us reason to reflect on what were not mere simple occurrences bringing our public school district to the level of achievement highlighted during the recent release of the School and District Performance Scores. Many, many dedicated educators as well as school leaders contributed to this success through their tireless efforts. They collaborated to align curriculum, prepared challenging lessons, developed rigorous assessments and established higher student expectations helping propel student achievement to a much higher level. Through analysis of data-driven programs, educators applied, modified and implemented those ideas that made the difference in achieving higher academic gains.
