Bearcats beat out 20 teams for swimming title

The Ruston Bearcat Boys captured the Division II state swimming title at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Swimming Championships in Sulphur on Saturday. SULPHUR — The words roll off the tongue. It has a very sweet sound. And, it is a reality for the Ruston High School Bearcat boys swimming team.

In only their fourth year of participating in high school swimming, the Bearcats have been making waves throughout the season. With several wins under their belt and a Red River Conference Swimming Championship title in early November, it was just a prelude of bigger things to come.
