A life-long Lincoln Parish resident, Bettye Brown Giles has devoted herself in various ways to the Grambling community.

“I was born in Simsboro to George W. and Ruby Brown,” Giles said. “I have lived in Grambling for 62 years and have been married to one man (Willie M. Giles) for the past 59 years.”
Having two daughters, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Giles puts her energy toward keeping the community clean during her retirement after more than 30 years with the Grambling State University bookstore.
