New head coach lands five all-star caliber players

Pauline Tufi (seated, center), the two-time Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Alaska, is one of five high school prep stars to sign with head coach Mark Montgomery and the Louisiana Tech University Lady Techster softball program.

With six seniors on this year’s roster, Louisiana Tech University head softball coach Mark Montgomery knew it was imperative that he find some quality replacements for this year’s class.

The first year head coach did just that, as he recently signed five high school prep stars to national letters-of-intent during the early period, as Tech inked Tori Charters (Keller, Texas/Keller HS), Amanda Gray (Allen, Texas/Lovejoy High), Taylor Penn (Forney, Texas/Forney High), Pauline Tufi (Anchorage, Alaska/West Anchorage High), and Kaitlyn Williams (Glendale, Calif./Herbert Hoover High).
