The rainfall event earlier was a welcomed relief from the dry conditions.  It is important that landscape plants, especially those which are mainstays in the landscape, have adequate soil moisture even in the fall and winter. Trees, shrubs, perennials and lawns can be damaged if they do not receive supplemental water during periods of low humidity, low precipitation and fluctuating temperatures.
