Cedar Creek tips off Killgore tourney

Cedar Creek School officially kicked off the Neill Killgore Tournament on Wednesday with an opening ceremony and ribbon cutting that included recognition of all Lady Cougar and Cougar basketball players and coaches. The tournament is named in honor of Cedar Creek alumnus, Byron Neill Killgore (Class of 1975 ),who died in a tragic accident the summer after graduation. He was an outstanding student-athlete who excelled on and off of the basketball court. The tournament will continue through Saturday. Assisting in the ribbon cutting to begin the tournament were senior Lady Cougars’ assistant Gloria Riser, gils’ Head Coach Katie Eagles, Head of School Andrew Yepson, boys’ Head Coach Kyle Kavanaugh and boys’ assistant Tim Smith.

Cedar Creek High’s boys and girls got the annual Neill Killgore Memorial basketball tournament off on a successful note on Wednesday.

The Lady Cougars of Head Coach Katie Eagles were a 28-21 winner over Lincoln Parish foe Choudrant High and the Kyle Kavanaugh-guided Cougars took a 65-27 triumph over Quitman.
