ORDINANCE NO. 1632 OF 2012 ORDINANCE ANNEXING APPROXIMATELY 6.8 ACRES OF LAND INTO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF RUSTON, LOUISIANA
WHEREAS, a Petition was received by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen requesting the annexation into the corporate limits of the City of Ruston, Louisiana, of the following described property (the “Property”) located in Section 7, Township 18 North - Range 2 West, Land District North of Red River, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, being more particularly described as follows: Property identified by Lincoln Parish Assessor Parcel No. 29182BLC002 and abutting road right-of-way, further described as Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29-T18N-R2W and run East for 398.3 feet for starting point; from starting point run South along existing corporate limit line a distance of 572.3 feet m/l to the North right-of-way line of Beacon Light Road; thence run in a southwesterly direction along said North right-of-way line a distance of 612 feet m/l to the intersection of the north right-of-way and existing City Limits boundary, also being the West line of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29-T18N-R2W; thence run south along said West line a distance of 60 feet m/l to the southern right-of-way line of Beacon Light Road; thence run in a northeasterly direction along the South right-of-way line of Beacon Light Road for a distance of 1662 feet m/l to the intersection of the North line of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29-T18N-R2W; thence run West along the North line of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29-T18N-R2W a distance of 877 feet to the starting point, all in the Northeast quarter of the Northwest of Section 29-T18N-R2W containing approximately 6.8 acres WHEREAS, the Lincoln Parish Assessor and the Lincoln Parish Registrar of Voters have certified that said Petition was signed by the requisite number of property owners and registered voters; and, WHEREAS, due notice of the receipt of the Petition was given as required by R.S. 33:172, and no request was made by anyone for a hearing; and, WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to annex the Property into the corporate limits of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RUSTON, LOUISIANA:
§1. The Property is hereby annexed into the corporate limits of the City of Ruston, Louisiana.
§2. The Property shall be zoned and future land use established as described below and shall be subject to zoning requirements set forth in the Code of Ordinances of the City of Ruston, Louisiana:
Zoning: M-2 Mobile Home Park.
Future Land Use: HR High Density Residential
§3. This Ordinance shall become effective after final adoption and publication of same in the manner prescribed by law.
This Ordinance was introduced on October 1, 2012, by Alderman Elmore Mayfield; Notice of Public Hearing was published on October 5, October 12, and October 19, 2012, a Public Hearing was held, the title having been read and the Ordinance considered, on motion to adopt by Alderman Elmore Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Jedd Lewis, a record vote was taken and the following result was had:
