Submitted photo DART co-founder and Community Advocate Terrie Queen Autrey has lived in Ruston since 1983.

Because her father was in the Air Force, Terrie Queen Autrey’s family frequently moved.
“We lived in five states and three European countries when I was growing up,” said Autrey, a native of Waynesville, N.C. “I went to 11 schools in 12 years.”

But for the last 29 years, Autrey has found a home in Ruston. In this time she has stayed active in the community, working in the Women’s Ministry and as part of the welcome team at The Bridge Community Church and joining a writing team through “Writing From the Heart,” a project created by Nancy Slonim Aronie.
