Tax reform in Louisiana
A state official with the Louisiana Department of Revenue is traveling around the state promoting tax reforms that Gov. Bobby Jindal hopes to make a priority during the 2013 legislative session.
Doug Baker, director of communications with the LDR, working under Secretary of Revenue Tim Barfield, stopped by the Daily Leader this week to discuss the plans and problems with the current system.
Jindal and those working with him hope to launch a comprehensive reform of personal and corporate income taxes, as well as property and sales taxes, Baker said.
