Mayor optimistic for 2013 despite projected $1M deficit for 2012

GRAMBLING — The City of Grambling has high hopes for 2013, as they discussed the projected budget during a special-called meeting held Dec. 27.

“We expect more revenue this year,” City of Grambling Mayor Edward Jones said. “Within the city, Mansfield Estates is currently being developed, which will result in 34 homes, and a project off of U.S. Highway 80, Skip Russell’s project, is expected to accommodate 37 new homes. This will bring in more property taxes, along with more water, sewer and garbage customers.”

Jones also noted increased revenue from sales tax.
