Woman injured in hit and run
A Ruston woman sustained life-threatening injuries in a hit and run that appears to have taken place sometime late on New Year’s Day.
Ruston Police Department Capt. Tim Parker said Latisha Parker, 34, of Ruston, was found at 12:30 a.m. this morning lying in the roadway at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Clay Street.
“The officer was just patrolling and saw her lying in the street,” Parker said. “When he made contact with her, it was obvious she had been struck by a vehicle. We don’t know how long she had been there.”
