A home located at the intersection of Medgar Evers Drive and Clark Street in Grambling was partially engulfed in flames on Jan. 5, but fortunately was not a total loss.

“Two units responded to a call at 4:12 p.m. Saturday,” said Grambling Fire Chief David Wells. “A neighbor had seen the fire and called it in. There was no one home at the time of the fire and no one was injured. It took about 45 minutes to contain the fire but personnel stayed at the scene until 9 p.m.”

Assisting with the fire was the Lincoln Parish Fire Department.

“They responded for mutual aid,” Wells continued.
