THE VILLAGE OF SIMSBORO MONTHLY TOWN HALL MEETING MINUTES SATURDAY, JANUARY 7, 2013
The Village of Simsboro met in regular session Saturday, January 7, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. Council members present were Alderman Pam Durrett, Alderman Tiffany Cole and Alderman Doug Durrett. Mayor Hendricks called the meeting to order. Alderman Pam Durrett voiced the prayer. Mayor Hendricks led in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Hendricks requested an amendment to the Agenda by adding RESOLUTION 07-13 TO ADOPT THE OFFICIAL ATTORNEY FOR THE VILLAGE OF SIMSBORO and asked for a motion to amend the proposed change and approve regular printed agenda. Motion was made by Alderman Pam Durrett, seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett. Motion passed with all three Aldermen voting yea. Mayor Hendricks asked if there were any questions or corrections to the printed minutes from the December 3, 2012. There were none. A motion was made by Alderman Tiffany Cole and seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett to accept the minutes as read. Motion passed.
PUBLIC COMMENT: There were none
DISCUSSION OF MUNICIPAL BILLS: Aldermen were provided a report of all checks written to review. Mayor Hendricks asked if there were any questions. There were none.
RESOLUTION 01-13 OFFICIAL MUNICIPAL CLERK FOR THE VILLAGE OF SIMSBORO: Motion made by Alderman Pam Durrett seconded by Alderman Tiffany Cole. Motion passed.
RESOLUTION 02-13 OFFICIAL TOWN CLERK FOR THE VILLAGE OF SIMSBORO; Motion made by Alderman Tiffany Cole seconded by Alderman Pam Durrett. Motion passed .
RESOLUTION 03-13 OFFICIAL CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT FOR THE VILLAGE OF SIMSBORO: Motion made by Alderman Pam Durrett seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett. Motion passed.
RESOLUTION 04-13 OFFICIAL JOURNAL, RUSTON DAILY LEADER FOR THE VILLAGE OF SIMSBORO: Motion made by Alderman Tiffany Cole seconded by Alderman Pam Durrett. Motion passed.
RESOLUTION 05-13 SUPPORT OF WATER SYSTEM EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT FOR THE VILLAGE OF SIMSBORO: Motion made by Alderman Pam Durrett seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett. Motion passed.
RESOLUTION 06-13 NON-SUPPORT OF POST OFFICE CLOSURE: Resolution was not considered due to new lease agreement allowing Simsboro's Post Office to remain open. Resolution did not pass.
RESOLUTION 07-13 OFFICIAL ATTORNEY FOR SIMSBORO FOR THE VILLAGE OF SIMSBORO: Motion was made by Pam Durrett seconded by Alderman Tiffany Cole. Motion passed.
MAYOR'S REPORT: Due to reports the lease has been renegotiated and signed around 5:00 today to continue our Postal Services in Simsboro. Our last report from the USPS stated the leaser would not renegotiate the lease agreement but further reports say the USPS was the non-negotiator, just for the record.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Mayor Hendricks stated that Doug Brewer could not attend the meeting, but that he had presented the financial reports for November 2012.
WATER/SEWER REPORT: Shelby Kelley was absent.
PLANNING & ZONING REPORT: No report.
Motion was made by Alderman Pam Durrett, seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett to adjourn Town Hall Meeting. Motion passed.
Meeting adjourned at 6:10 P.M.
