On average, the Domestic Abuse Resistance Team serves more than 700 new men, women and children each year, on top of the carry-over clients.

This area program, which offers shelter, advocacy and support for victims of domestic violence, might soon be serving fewer people if something doesn’t change.

DART was recently hit with a $63,000 midyear budget cut from the state. Although that figure would not be significant for some entities, it makes up almost 16 percent of the organization’s total funds from the state.
