The 2014 Northwestern Mutual Coaches vs. Cancer Classic continues this weekend as Louisiana Tech is set to host a four-team, round robin as part of the sub-host rounds today-Sunday at the Thomas Assembly Center.
The Bulldogs tip off the annual basketball event put on by the Coaches vs. Cancer program benefiting the American Cancer Society at 7 p.m. today in a match-up versus Morehead State televised on ASN.
Tech will face American at 6 p.m. Saturday and the tournament finishes up at 4 p.m. Sunday against Presbyterian which will also be broadcast live on ASN.
Louisiana Tech is gearing up for a busy stretch heading into the month of April as the Bulldogs will play 10 games in the next 14 days, beginning with a pair of midweek games against in-state opponents Grambling State and Louisiana-Monroe today and Wednesday.
Tech (10-13) will begin the week by with a short trip west down I-20 to face Grambling (4-21) at 6 p.m. today at Wilbert Ellis Field. The Bulldogs will then turn around and host ULM (13-12) 24 hours later at 6 p.m. Wednesday at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park.
A reception for the 2014 Grambling Legend induction class will be held at 5 p.m. tonight at the Eddie G. Robinson Museum on the Grambling State University campus. The 2014 Grambling Legends class will be inducted into the Grambling Legends Sports Hall of Fame at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Monroe Civic Center.
