Louisiana Tech University’s indoor track and field team readied for the upcoming Western Athletic Conference championship meet by featuring several outstanding performances at the recent Tyson Invitational held in Fayetteville, Ark.
Junior Trey Hadnot ran a school-record time of 20.81 in the 200-meter dash and was the top placing collegiate performer in event, as well as being fourth overall.
The time for the former Ruston High School star was not only the first sub-21.00 indoor 200-m time in school history, but is currently tied for fourth in the nation this year.
Former Grambling State football standout and two-time head coach Doug Williams has returned to the team where he had his greatest success as he has been announced as a front office personnel executive for the Washington Redskins.
The 58-year-old Williams played for the Redskins between the 1986 and 1989 seasons. He was named the most valuable player in their Super Bowl XXII victory over the Denver Broncos in January of 1988. He threw for four touchdowns, all in the second quarter, and 340 yards in that game.
