Joseph W. “Joe” Dickson, who was recently made an emeritus member of the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Reserve and the Sheriff’s Citizens Observer Patrol, has spent most of his spare time for the past 50 years watching over the residents of Lincoln Parish.

From working at big events, such as the Louisiana Peach Festival, to patrolling traffic, Dickson has enjoyed every moment of his service.

“I just enjoy doing what I do,” Dickson said. “And, my wife supports me 100 percent.”
Before beginning his volunteerism, Dickson served in the United States Air Force.
