Rotary names March students of the month

The Ruston Rotary Club proudly announces the recipients of the March Student of the Month Awards. Recognized by Rotarian Jim Tuten, each student was honored at the March 20 luncheon and presented an award of achievement by club president Stephen Williams. Each awardee has maintained a minimum GPA of 3.5 and been active in extra curricular activities and leadership roles at their respective schools.

Cedar Creek is represented by Tucker Smith, a senior with a GPA of 4.23 and ACT score of 27. Inducted into the National Honor Society, he is a member of the Key Club and basketball and golf teams. A member of First Baptist Church where he has volunteered in the nursery and on mission trip, Tucker has also participated in Weekend of the C.R.O.S.S. and Juvenile Diabetes Walk for the Cure. Named to the honor roll, he was captain and MVP of the basketball team as well as a member of the state championship golf team. Tucker plans to attend Louisiana State University and major in math or science.
