Inconsistency marks position in first spring scrimmage

Leader photo by O.K. DAVIS While the quarterbacks had a tough day during Louisiana Tech University’s first spring scrimmage on Wednesday, running back Kenneth Dixon continued to make a big impact with the offensive unit. The Strong, Ark., product was a freshman All-American pick in 2012.

No surprise, but one of the most asked questions about Louisiana Tech University’s football team this spring revolves around the quarterback position.

That would only be expected, given that the Bulldogs will have to replace 2012 Sammy Baugh Award winner Colby Cameron.

If the first scrimmage of the spring on Wednesday night provided any measuring stick, the ’Dogs have a long ways to travel before deciding who becomes his successor.

The quarterbacks had a tough day at the scrimmage which was used for perusing personnel rather than brushing up on offensive or defensive schemes.
