Mulkey: Finalist for national coaching award

Former Louisiana Tech University player and assistant coach Kim Mulkey, the head coach for the Lady Bears of Baylor University, is a finalist for the Naismith Women’s Basketball Coach of the Year award.

ATLANTA, Ga. — Baylor University Head Coach and former Louisiana Tech University player and assistant coach Kim Mulkey has been announced as one of four finalists vying for the 2013 Naismith Women’s College Coach of the Year Award, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced recently. Mulkey, along with University of Notre Dame Head Coach Muffet McGraw, are among former winners of the award who are on the final ballot.

They are joined by University of California coach Lindsay Gottlieb and University of Dayton coach Jim Jabir. The Naismith Women’s College Coach of the Year Award will be announced during the upcoming NCAA Women’s Final Four in New Orleans.
