I know I almost did. During the second weekend of December, I reluctantly got around to dragging ye olde fake Christmas tree out of storage, two weekends later than normal, and was soon overtaken by that familiar but elusive Christmas spirit. While I strung upon it ribbon, threads of white lights and handmade confectionery-style ornaments, I began to wonder about the origins of the tannenbaum custom.
