In Lincoln and Union parishes, there is always a need for more Courts Appointed Special Advocates. CASA volunteers, as they’re better known, are appointed by judges to investigate cases where a child has been allegedly abused or neglected by his caretaker.

In the Third Judicial District, more cases involve neglect, as opposed to abuse, says Advocate Supervisor Doris Tettleton.
