As a nation, perhaps the following resolution should be public resolution numero uno: financial equality. Thirty years ago, before the Google gaggle and the millennial infusion of insta-cash, two Swedish prophets named Andersson and Ulvaeus canted no truer words: “I work all night, I work all day, I pay the bills I have to pay.”

Mamma Mia! The yin and yang of ABBA prophesied financial inequality long ago, but have we really paid attention to their premonitions? Time to shake the magic eight ball, light the lava lamp and begin to examine the state of the dance floor.
