Schools consider extended programs
Administrators at both schools will offer the program only to students whose parents want them to participate, he said.
“This is an idea that we are seriously considering. We are designing this program specifically for students who have performed poorly in school and use the free and reduced lunch program — those two criteria make them the most at risk, and that’s why we are targeting them,” Bell said.
According to the current proposal, both schools will offer extended school days to at-risk students from Mondays through Thursdays.
