The LEAP, iLEAP and GEE tests are based on the state’s Grade Level Expectations and gauge students’ abilities in key areas of study, including English language arts, math, science and social studies. Minimum scores in these categories on the LEAP and GEE tests are required for students to be promoted to the next grade.

In Lincoln Parish, 82 percent of fourth-graders and 70 percent of eighth-graders passed the LEAP and will move on to fifth and ninth grade, respectively. This represents a higher number of students who passed the test than in years past.
