Truck driver in tanker accident improving
Alton R. Barron was first thought to have very serious injuries as a result of the accident, but an LSU spokesperon said his condition was listed as serious upon entry to the hospital, but he has improved steadily. Barron was transported to LSU by LifeAir Ambulance.
He was hauling highly explosive butane when he lost control while negotiating a curve at an excessive speed, State Trooper David Bryant said at the time of the accident. When he attempted to regain control, both the tractor and the tank hit a guard rail on the road’s edge.
