No change of venue for Swartz
Woodard said no other cases of changes in venues in similar circumstances existed.
Jesse Aaron Swartz, the accused killer of Marion Police Officer Hector Chino Gomez, will not have his trial moved out of Rapides Parish as his attorneys had hoped.
Swartz’s attorneys, David Price and Bobby Culpepper, want to take the trial out of Rapides Parish, where two police officers were recently killed. Jurors in Rapides Parish would be prejudiced against Swartz due to the publicity surrounding killings of police officers there, Price said.
