Officials at Ruston Junior High aren’t going to allow most boys and girls at the school to take math and LEAP preparation classes together for the 2010-11 school year, and perhaps beyond.

Their reasoning — placing junior high-level boys and girls together in a classroom setting that requires more concentration than perhaps other subjects causes distractions for them.
