City hopes to name new chief

The search committee has recommended James T. Tornabene of DeQueen, Ark., to take the top spot in the fire department. The search committee consisted of Ruston Mayor Dan Hollingsworth, Assistant Ruston Fire Chief Alvin Norman, Acting Ruston Fire Chief Harrell Pipes and the mayor’s chief administrative advisor George Byrnside.
Pipes was called out of retirement to fill in after Chief Donnie Watson retired late last year.
