Grad recalls Lincoln High reunion
On the week of July leading to the 4th, I had a chance to see a lot of people I knew and went to school with at Lincoln High School. The concerted effort from all the classes that had attended Lincoln High School made our reunion a momentous occasion.
We had a parade downtown, enjoyed a picnic, a banquet and a worship service. We laughed, cried together and sang our alma mater. It was a wonderful chance to rub elbows with our teachers and people who were supportive of our school.
I felt compelled to write this article because the Ruston Daily Leader and Buddy Davis gave me the opportunity to write about sports at Lincoln High from 1967-69. It was an epiphany for me. As a matter of fact, I still have some of the articles in my scrapbook. My class was the last class to graduate from Lincoln High School. It was the class of 1970.
