Summer reading program enriches parish children
Each summer, thousands of children across the country take a break from all things school related and spend their days lounging by the pool and watching as much television as they can fit into their day.
However, at least a couple hundred school-aged children and teens in Lincoln Parish spent their days with their noses buried in books and hanging out at the library. This summer the Lincoln Parish Library encouraged people of all ages to pick up books, DVDs and audio books to nourish their minds. Featured programs were directed toward children, tweens, teens and adults.
These children, tweens and teens flocked to the library either for their love of reading or possibly their love of prizes. Either way, those decisions have given them a head start for the upcoming school year.
