Pushing paper to recycling bin
Local residents who have been hoarding paper and magazines awaiting an environmentally friendly way to dispose of them now have a temporary solution.
The city of Ruston has partnered with Recycling Services LLC, based in Monroe, to host “Operation Paper Recycling” from 8 a.m. to noon on Oct. 30 at the Historic Fire Station, located at 200 E. Mississippi Ave. in downtown Ruston.
“Basically, we are collecting newspapers, office papers, old magazines, junk mail and old telephone books,” said Lori Faile, city development services manager. “Our motto is ‘If you can tear it, we can take it.’”
