This old service station at the corner of Adams Street and California Avenue will remain for the time being. Ruston City Council members on Monday rejected a proposal to transform the structure into a three-unit apartment building.

Ruston City Council members shot down a proposal to convert an old gas station into a small apartment complex following protests from community members.

During their monthly meeting on Monday evening, aldermen voted 4-1 to reject a conditional use permit to renovate a building at the corner of California Avenue and Adams Street so that it might house three apartments.
