Pesnell and Killgore marry

Micah Kassidy Pesnell of Choudrant and Ross Hearne Killgore of Haynesville were married at 5 p.m. on Oct. 16 at Douglas United Methodist Church. The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Rolly Walker.

Kassi is the daughter of Michael and Kathi Pesnell of Choudrant. She is the granddaughter of Jeanette and Willie Earl Pesnell of Choudrant and the late Sue and Dick Sanderson.

Ross is the son of Kenny and Vicki Killgore of Haynesville. He is the son of Ray and Ethel Killgore of Haynesville and James “Sonny” and Barbara McClanahan of Haynesville.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory fit and flare gown draped in organza over satin. The bodice featured beaded flowers and the swirl skirt extended into a chapel-length train. The cathedral veil was embellished with silver beading and the bride wore an ivory flower headpiece accented with feathers and beading.

Brittney Billberry of Ruston served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristina Colvin of Choudrant, Shelly Simmons of Choudrant, Jamie Simmons of Ruston, Melissa Peacock of Monroe, Jessica Alvendia of New Orleans, Amanda Brown of Ruston and junior bridesmaid Alyson Braddock of Ruston.

The bridesmaids wore jade green, strapless, floor-length dresses with ruched bodices.
Kenny Killgore was the best man.

Groomsmen were Collin Merritt of Haynesville; Britt Hardin of Haynesville; Lance Davenport of Springhill; Brandon Youngblood of Demopolis, Ala; Ryan Hammond of Bossier City; Clay Canterbury of Haynesville; Rico Alvendia of New Orleans; and Kaleb Pesnell of Choudrant.
Ushers were Paden Aaron of Choudrant, Cole Edmiston of Choudrant, Jody Smith of Choudrant Landry Smith of Choudrant, Jacob Simmons of Choudrant and Bayley Braddock of Ruston.
Noah Alvendia of New Orleans was the ring bearer.

Jessica Merritt of Haynesville and Molly Gaston of Choudrant were book attendants.
Dianne Lord, pianist, provided music.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Ruston Country Club.

A miscellaneous shower was held Sept. 11 at the James House in Ruston. Hostesses were Karen Henderson, Ginger Aycock, Debra Barron, Phyllis Batusk, Barbara Bradshaw, Michelle Brown, Kim Davis, Kathy Stone, Penny James, Kitty Miller, Kathleen Mitchell, Tina Puckett, Shannon Walters, Sandy Whitman, Maddy White and Pam Willis.

A miscellaneous shower was held Sept. 18 at Alabama Presbyterian Church in Choudrant. Hostesses were the women of the church.

A kitchen shower was held Sept. 25 at Lori Barr’s home in Choudrant. Hostesses were Lori Barr, Susan Odom and Leisha Smith.

A miscellaneous shower was held Sept. 26 at Donna Lilly’s home in Pea Ridge. Hostesses were Jackie Billberry, Donna Lilley and Jessica Lilley.

A lingerie shower was held on Oct. 9 at Kathi Pesnell’s home in Choudrant. Hostesses were Bettney Billberry, Jamie Simmons, Melissa Peacock, Jessica Alvendia, Kristina Colvin and Robin Duke.

A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held on Oct. 15 at Buck Creek Lodge in Haynesville.

Following a honeymoon to Panama City Beach, Fla., the couple will reside in Ruston.
