Lincoln Parish voters can give themselves a pat on the back. Thanks to their efforts and those of voters statewide, our parish roads could get some much-needed attention within the next few years.

On Tuesday, 58 percent of the state’s voters and 80 percent of Lincoln Parish’s voters approved Constitutional Amendment No. 2.

This amendment, brought to the table by Rep. Rick Gallot, raises the cap on the amount of severance tax money parishes can get back from the state for gas and oil exploration.
